The state tournament is scheduled for Principal Park through the 2020 season. Future tentative dates are:
2013 — July 26-27, 29-August 3
2014 — July 25-26, 28-August 2
2015 — July 24-25, 27-August 1

Clear Lake (3A) and North Polk (2A) took over the top spot in their respective classes in the latest rankings by the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association. Ankeny (4A) and Mason City Newman (1A) kept their spots atop their classes. There were only slight changes in most of the rankings. Of the 40 teams ranked last week, 37 of them are ranked again this week. The complete rankings are at the lower right.

High school teams have the opportunity to play regular-season games at Principal Park. Read more for a list of dates and games for 2013 and how to schedule your game.

The Iowa High School Athletic Association and the Iowa Cubs have announced that the state baseball tournament will remain at Principal Park through 2015. The two groups have signed an agreement to extend the current contract that expires in 2013. There is also a five-year option agreement that would keep the tournament at Principal Park through 2020.

It was a numbers game at the 2012 state high school baseball championships as Martensdale-St. Marys won its third straight Class 1A state title and three new state champions — all top seeds — were crowned in the other classes. Read more for other numerical notes.
